Chelsea Callahan is the Founder and Head Roaster of The Waking Tree Coffee Company, founded in 2024 in Washington State. With over a decade of experience as a barista, she pairs deep specialty coffee knowledge with a background as a Pacific Northwest wildland firefighter, snowboarding instructor, and educator. Her diverse experience reflects resilience, discipline, and a strong connection to the outdoors that shapes the company’s Pacific Northwest identity.
Chelsea and her husband, along with their son, love exploring Washington and are passionate about environmental stewardship, strong community values, and delivering an exceptional customer experience. She has led the development of a small-batch craft coffee roastery, mobile espresso cart, and espresso trailer business serving Kitsap County and beyond. Through intentional sourcing, artisan roasting, and community-centered service, Chelsea is building The Waking Tree Coffee Company into a trusted PNW craft coffee brand rooted in quality, sustainability, and connection.
